Dear 1070 Arastradero Colleagues,
In support of OFPM, the Operations and Maintenance team will shut down the domestic water systems in the building. The shutdown is needed to make emergency repairs to a failed water heater.
Date: August 27th, 2025
Schedule: Building domestic water system – 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Domestic hot water system – 5:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Impact: All sinks, including lab sinks, will not have hot or cold water available during this time. All Men’s, Women’s, and All-Gender restrooms will be out of service. Breakrooms/kitchen sinks will not have hot or cold water available during this time.
In addition, emergency eyewash/showers will not be in service during this time.
Safety Impact: There will be no domestic water in the emergency showers/eye wash stations. During this time, laboratory personnel are not to work with corrosive chemicals, cause permanent tissue damage or severe irritation, or are toxic by skin/eye absorption, or engage in any BSL-2 work that is not in a biosafety cabinet.
