Dear Colleagues,
The Operations and Maintenance Department will shut down the building’s domestic water system to support OFPM and the School of Medicine contractor. The shutdown is part of the domestic water backflow preventer annual testing.
Date: Tuesday, October 6th, 2026
Time: 5:00 am – 5:30 am
Impact: All sinks will not have hot or cold water available during this time. All men’s and women’s restrooms will be out of service. Break rooms/ kitchen sinks will not have hot or cold water available during this time.
Safety Impact: There will be no domestic water to the emergency showers or eye wash stations. During this time, laboratory personnel are not to work with chemicals that are corrosive, cause permanent tissue damage or severe irritation, or are toxic by skin/eye absorption, or engage in any BSL-2 work that is not in a biosafety cabinet.
