3145 Porter Dr A: Crane Lift Operation for AC Package Unit Replacement, Saturday – January 31, 2026 from 6:00am – 11:00am

Dear Colleagues,

The Office of Facilities Planning & Management is scheduled to replace an obsolete AC package unit located on the roof of 3145 Porter Drive -Building A

This job will require preparatory work and a crane lift to remove and replace the existing equipment.  

The 3145 Building west side parking area will not be available for parking on Friday (1/30) and will be use for staging materials for the project.

An exterior building map provided below to show location of the crane lift and swing operations – Saturday, January 31st at 6:00am – 11:00am.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday, January 31, 2026

Crane Lift 6:00am to 11:00am

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Friday – January 30, 2026

  • In preparation for the crane lift, Carrier will shut down rooftop AC unit starting Friday, January 30th at 6am. 
  • Safe-off fire & life safety system and electrical disconnects.
  • Demo existing supply and return duct work served by the AC unit.
  • Space/Room temperatures will swing from cold to hot during the day.

Saturday – January 31, 2026 

  • Stage new duct work and get the existing unit ready for removal. 
  • Secure 3145 building west parking area with safety cones and safety barricades.
  • Install caution tapes to all entry to the building in preparation for early morning  lift operation.

Space/Room temperatures will swing from cold to hot during the day.

Monday – February 2, 2026 to Wednesday February 4, 2026

  • AC Unit supply and return duct work installation.
  • Reinstall fire & life safety system and electrical feed to new AC unit.
  • Turn on power, test and commission AC unit system operation.
  • Complete installation on Wednesday (2/4) at 3:00pm.
  • Space/Room temperatures will swing from cold to hot during the day.

SAFETY IMPACTS:

During the scheduled crane lift operation, the building will be closed and all entry doors to the building will be closed to pedestrian foot traffic.
