Dear 1050 Arastradero A & B Colleagues,
The Operations and Maintenance Department will be shutting down the building’s domestic and industrial water systems. This shutdown is in support of OFPM and a School of Medicine vendor with the annual backflow testing.
Date: August 7th, 2026
Time: 5:00 am – 6:00 am
Impact: All sinks, including lab sinks, will not have hot or cold water available during this time. All Men’s and Women’s restrooms will be out of service. Break rooms/ kitchen sinks will not have hot or cold water available during this time. In addition, emergency eyewash/showers will not be in service during this time.
Safety Impact: There will be no domestic water to the emergency showers/eye wash stations. During this time, laboratory personnel are not to work with chemicals that are corrosive, cause permanent tissue damage or severe irritation, or are toxic by skin/eye absorption, or engage in any BSL-2 work that is not in a biosafety cabinet.
