Feedback Lab: Influence, Assertiveness & IDP Conversations That Move You Forward
3/4/26, 2:30-4:00pm, LKSC 308

Register here: https://stanford.joinhandshake.com/events/1919799

This interactive workshop is designed for MD, PhD, MS students and postdocs in the biosciences who want to communicate with clarity and confidence. We’ll explore practical strategies for giving and receiving feedback effectively, persuading when you don’t have formal authority, and making the most of your IDP conversations.

This is a true “lab” experience: participants will practice real-time feedback and influence skills through guided role plays and case studies. Come prepared with a general situation you’d like to workshop. We’ll also cover managing anxiety, developing assertiveness without losing authenticity, adapting to different communication styles, and navigating common (and unique) complications in academic environments. Leave with language you can use immediately — and the confidence to use it.
