Good Evening Colleagues,
This evening Facilities received temporary generator alarms relating to DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Crystallization.
The crystal formation clogs pump, injectors and sensors that can force a generator engine failure.
To avoid a generator failure and minimize equipment downtime, a preventive maintenance needs to be performed as early as Friday, April 3, 2026.
This service will require the generator be shut down for 4 hours.
DATE: Friday – April 3, 2026
TIME: 4:00AM to 8:00AM
IMPACT: All normal power will be off during this time. Emergency power will remain available.
SAFETY IMPACT: There will be reduced lighting and ventilation. Fume hoods may be inoperable.
Any equipment that may be adversely affected by sudden power loss should be shutdown gracefully prior to 4AM on Friday April 3, 2026.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
FRED P. ECHALUSE
