Dear Colleagues,
The temporary mobile generator had an issue mid morning, and it automatically switched from primary engine # 1 to backup engine #2.
Presently @ 75 deg F outside temperature, the load on engine #2 is greater than 80%.
As building load demand increases when outside temperature approaches 85 deg F, Facilities will implement the following steps to minimize the risks of shutting down normal power to the building:
- Continue to run temporary generator engine #2 at a lower load than 80%.
- Run building stationary generator to offload building critical equipment from generator engine #2
- Set AHUs supply temperature setpoints higher serving non-critical spaces to off-load chilled water use.
- The building temperature will be warmer than normal.
These steps will help maintain building power (with minimal to no disruption) until tomorrow morning when building power is transferred to permanent utility power.
If you have any questions or concerns or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Fred P. Echaluse
